History
Vital Regeneration was established in 2005 as an independent regeneration charity. However many centres and projects that Vital Regeneration now manages have been delivering services for more than 10 years.
Vital Regeneration was established initially as a sustainability strategy for a number of key learning and enterprise programmes which had been developed through the Estate Action programmes of the 1990s – a decade long series of major works projects on dense housing estates in Westminster.
These programmes were designed to support community regeneration through skills improvement, employment and enterprise support, creative activities, youth engagement and community facilities management.
Our purpose is to take forward this portfolio and to apply Vital Regeneration’s expertise in designing and delivering new, high impact solutions with and for communities experiencing disadvantage.
From the Estate Action programme, we took on the legacy of planning and development for two learning centres: Firststep.com and Queens Park New Media Centre – QPNMC. These centres function as hubs for our learning programmes, at the heart of our delivery of skills and training.
We target London’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, working to alleviate the consequences of inner city deprivation for individuals and communities.
