Katy Haigh
Deputy Chief Executive
Katy is Vital Regeneration's Deputy Chief Executive, leading the strategic development and delivery of our learning programmes. She also manages our Momentum Programme, which is co-financed by the European Social Fund and Learning & Skills Council, and delivered with a consortium of partners across London.
Prior to this role, Katy was our Project Manager for Studio+. This innovative project combines Skills for Life (literacy and numeracy) with music and progression activities for young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training).
In February 2007 Katy joined Vital Regeneration after travelling and working in New Zealand for a year and a half. In New Zealand she worked at the Ministry of Education as a Communications Advisor and at Box Rocket Animations as a Production Management Intern.
Katy gained a PGCE in Secondary School Music Teaching from Kingston University in 2002, and celebrated by putting on her comedy musical "The Naked Tambourine" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The following September she took on a teaching post at Claremont Performing Arts College in Kenton, where she taught Music and Sex and Relationships Education. After two years she was promoted to Assistant Director of Music.
Katy holds an NVQ in Leadership and Management and is a member of the Institute for Learning.
Alongside representatives of social services, the NHS, local police and other statutory services, Katy represents the voluntary sector on Westminster’s Local Safeguarding Children Board.
