Aleesia enrolled on a Studio+ music course in October 2006.  She joined Studio+ to learn how to make her own music.  Aleesia completed two music production courses and gained a Level 2 Open College Network accreditation in MIDI Sequencers.

Aleesia was really engaged in learning how to produce music and while working on Studio+ she also studied embedded literacy (that’s the plus!).  She sat two literacy exams at City of Westminster College and gained Level 1 and 2 adult literacy qualifications.  This has helped her to progress in other areas that she wants to work on.

“The Studio+ Key Worker supported me to get help from a housing association to rent my own home,” says Aleesia.  “He also helped me to get a grant for buying furniture.”

During summer term in 2007, Aleesia was employed by Vital Regeneration as a part-time support tutor on a creative after-school club at a local primary school.  Since then, she has gained another part-time job.

“In my free time I’m still working on my music,” adds Aleesia.  “Studio+ has definitely given me more confidence.”
