Ana joined the Learning Team at Vital Regeneration in October 2009 as a full time volunteer.  Originally from Bulgaria, Ana joined Vital Regeneration as a volunteer through an internship programme offered by the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, where she studied a BA Hons in 'Applied Media and Communications Science'.

Ana has supported the Learning Team with marketing, administration, teaching and technical support of projects with much of her time dedicated to the set up and delivery of the FreqOUT! 'Interactivity' project.  Ana volunteered to explore 'Media Scape' technology devised by Futurelab to allow Vital Regeneration beneficiaries to link sounds and digital photographs via GPS connection within HTC touch screen phones; which allowed users to spatially experience the digital media produced on the project.  Ana has gained a wide knowledge of the Learning projects at Vital Regeneration and has become an integral part of the team, she said,
 
"In Germany, my studies were interdisciplinary and I was looking for an internship that allowed me to explore many fields.  I thought it would be unlikely that I would find such an internship to combine these skills – marketing design, project management and digital arts.  My Education internship at Vital Regeneration has proved to be the ideal mix! The ethos of the projects has also inspired me; Vital Regeneration believes that people should be supported to reach their full potential in life.  Through my internship their ethos has become a reality for me too!
 
It has been a challenging and inspirational experience, supported by a great team that have contributed to positive change in my life and improved my future career opportunities as well".
