Daniel

Daniel was interested in doing market research for Re-Evolve as he had never done anything like that before, so it was a new experience.  He found that meeting different people and contacts created new opportunities through networking.

Through the project, Daniel secured work experience at the Ministry of Sound, which led to another opportunity.  “Then they took me on for an internship,” he says.  “Then I began working on hospital radio where I live, which I did for a couple of weeks.”

Daniel thinks that the project has helped him to develop personally and in ways that might help him at work and in the future, as he has learned about the value of networking.

“There is only so much you can get from Google and looking at a computer screen.  You get to get out and meet people.  Re-Evolve offers what other places don’t,” thinks Daniel.  “Other places – the advice is from older people, which you don’t always take in and you can’t interact.  Re-Evolve gives you the opportunity to interact with young people.”

Initially, the group looked at work that they were interested in and what would be their ideal job.  “We thought about what we wanted to do and our experience and then did market research about those jobs.  We went to Westminster University Campus – asking students what their previous careers advice had been like.  It was a good experience.”
