Emily
Emily feels that the young people that Re-Evolve has made contact with have been empowered by the project, which they view as something new and exciting, taking a completely different approach to careers advice. “Most express a desire to get involved because they can see the project is really striving to work for their best interests,” she says.
The project has helped Emily to develop and she feels that her personal skills have improved through the regular workshops. “I have benefitted especially from our regular life coaching sessions,” she says. “My CV is now much stronger and my confidence has improved dramatically.”
Emily has enjoyed the opportunity to work with Re-Evolve. “We have laid the foundations for a really innovative careers resource for young people,” she says. “Much of this has taken place within our very well equipped computer suite, which we also use to give presentations to new volunteers. Our work has taken place in other settings, such as careers fairs and market research on the streets of Westminster.”
“All of the people that I have volunteered with are absolutely wonderful,” adds Emily. “We have all supported each other to bring our individual project to light. Being able to take part in the running of the project itself has also enabled us all to acquire a wider range of skills than I would normally associate with a volunteering role.”
