Thameda's future plans

Thameda joined our apprenticeship programme in October 2007 when she was 19, intending to build up her skills by working while training with our Employability team.  During her apprenticeship, Thameda secured a paid internship at CityWest Homes.

Having developed her skills and progressed well, following the apprenticeship Thameda was employed as a general administrator with Vital Regeneration.

In November 2008, she successfully applied for the position of Facilities Coordinator at The Greenside Community Centre.

“This role is ideal for me as I enjoy working at the Centre, which is so busy with such a wide range of different activities,” Thameda says.  “I really enjoy working within my local community.  With the skills and knowledge that I’ve acquired at Vital, I hope to develop my career further and one day, I’d really like to set up my own charity in Bangladesh.”
