The Chinese Year of the Tiger started on February 14th 2010 and on Monday 15th, children at The Greenside Community Centre celebrated the event by making red lanterns – traditionally displayed throughout the New Year Festival in China.  The children enjoyed learning the Chinese characters for the twelve animals, learning about the legend of the Jade Emperor and decorating their lanterns with silhouettes of dragons, rabbits, monkeys and more!
