Vital Regeneration's Chief Executive joins 'Make a Difference' Women in Celebrating International Women’s Day
On the 8th March, some of the UK's most high profile and successful businesswomen came together at an event to celebrate International Women’s Day. This marked a day of global celebration of women's achievements and also served as a reminder of the continued action needed to ensure these advances are maintained and built upon to achieve women's equality in all aspects of life.
Hosted by HSBC and FreshIdeas, the International Women’s Day dinner was attended by some of the UK’s leading female entrepreneurs – some who have participated on FreshIdeas MAD (Make a Difference) mentor programme along with some specially invited guests. These women unquestionably ‘Make A Difference’ when it comes to success in business.
From a variety of business sectors and backgrounds, the eclectic group included:
Chantal Coady, founder of the chocolate brand, Rococo, Polly Gowers, founder Everyclick.com and Sian Sutherland, founder Mama Mio among others. Angela McConville, Vital Regeneration’s Chief Executive, joined the women at the dinner. Angela was invited to highlight the enterprising social impact model the charity pursues and the results they are achieving as a result.
During the evening, the female entrepreneurs were interviewed by volunteers from Vital Regeneration’s Re-Evolve project, on how they would encourage women into enterprise. These role model women offered insights from their own experiences on what it takes to grow a business or career. We look forward to sharing what they had to say on our Re-Evolve website very soon.
So to echo the theme for International Women's Day - make a difference, think globally and act locally! And do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.
