Charity Football Tournament
Impressive football, friendly competition, great event at David Beckham Academy
Re-Evolve volunteers enjoyed a competitive but friendly charity tournament at the David Beckham Academy.
Prince’s Trust players represented Vital Regeneration and with ex-Arsenal hero Ray Parlour playing in their first game they won 1-0. Team 6 were playing in a strong group and drew their next games, leaving them with a must-win game in their final fixture.
“Fortunately we were scoring for fun and went onto win and advance into the final eight teams,” said Charlie, “We battled through and found ourselves in the semi finals.”
Charlie, a part-time volunteer with Re-Evolve and a Team 6 player, described the dramatic finish to his team’s efforts, “The opponents were hard but we were harder and took them to penalties but unfortunately, we couldn’t find that winning penalty and were knocked out. The result was irrelevant in the end as members of both teams had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a very good tournament, thanks to Vital Regeneration and Re-Evolve for the experience.”
