Church Street Advice on Housing

Local residents can drop in to The Greenside Community Centre to get information about housing, jobs, benefits, debt, crime, noise or health issues, when a new drop-in service is launched on September 9th from 3-5pm.

Church Street Neighbourhood Management’s Advice Plus sessions will bring together advice services from across the area to help residents with almost any issue they might be facing.

Advice Plus is about helping with advice on housing, financial assistance, support with noise and anti-social behaviour or finding relevant training or work.  They are supported with Arabic and Bengali translators, as well as specialist advice and activities for older people.

The sessions will held between 3-5pm – ideal for parents with young children as they come back from school.  With snacks, face painting, library books and activities to keep the kids busy, parents will be able to get the advice they need about the different services.  To help relieve the stresses of everyday life, parents can get a free hand massage or assess their health with a free blood pressure check.

The Church Street Advice Plus sessions will be held every second Wednesday in the month between 3-5pm at the Greenside Community Centre on the Lisson Green Estate.  Just turn up on September 9th, October 14th, November 11th and December 9th.

The first session will host Karen Buck MP, local Church Street councillors, various housing landlords and the Housing Options Service, Environmental Health, the local Police Team and City Guardians, Westminster Works, CHAS Money Matters sessions, Westminster Library, Westminster Advocacy Service for Senior Residents (WASSR), Open Age, Lisson Green TARA, PALS, Arabic and Bengali translators and the Lisson Grove Health Centre.
