Indigo Cleaning Services Backs Cleaner, Greener Communities

Indigo Cleaning Services has generously awarded sponsorship of £10,000 to Vital Regeneration's Get on the Greenside project that promotes and facilitates positive environmental behaviour among residents living on high density housing estates in Westminster.

Indigo, through their client partners Residential Management Group, have provided cleaning and support services to housing estates within Westminster.  Strong environmental values are at the core of Indigo’s work practices.  Indigo are proud to be associated with Vital Regeneration,  working together for positive change in London’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

The sponsorship award from Indigo demonstrates the high level of importance the company places on positive community social projects.

Stephen Boyd, Indigo’s Operations Manager, directly responsible for the Westminster contract, Gregoria Cooper, Business Development Manager and Phil Smith, Commercial Director, presented the cheque at Vital 500’s inaugural summer fundraising reception hosted by BNP Paribas.

Vital Regeneration aims to use the sponsorship to deliver a programme of activities promoting positive environmental behaviour among all age groups in London’s most deprived communities.  Part of the funding will also be used to develop communication materials that will help engage communities, raise awareness and demonstrate how we can all become community champions to help stop climate change.

Marie Monaghan, Vital Regeneration’s Sustainability Programme Manager commented,

"We are delighted to receive this generous donation from Indigo.  It is really important to educate children and young people about the local and global environment and to encourage them to take action at home.  In turn, they will encourage the rest of their family to recycle more and to use less energy.”

Stephen Boyd, Indigo’s Operations Manager commented,

We are very pleased to support these regeneration projects.  This is a great way for us to give back and make the communities where we do business a better place to live.  We look forward to a long-term partnership with Vital Regeneration.”

Indigo’s financial support will promote Vital Regeneration’s work through:

• The delivery of an annual ‘Eco Kids Club’ after-school programme that engages 40 young people in learning about recycling, climate change and the urban environment

• The development and distribution of a targeted newsletter promoting positive environmental behaviour to 1000 members of Westminster’s different Faith Groups

• Sponsorship of a ‘Get on the Greenside’ event bringing together 200 residents from the community and key stakeholders within Westminster together to showcase the achievements of our sustainability programmes throughout the year.
