Studio+ Taster Sessions Engage 35 Young People

The Studio+ team recently delivered two taster sessions with our new partners, New Horizon Youth Centre and Sidings Youth Centre, using our latest mobile music production studio.  The sessions hoped to inspire 14-19 year olds to sign up to the course through ‘tasting’ what they could expect from the course and sampling the music production software.

Following James’ demonstration and briefing on how to use the professional music production software, the young people quickly responded and soon had a music sequence recorded.  As a result of the taster sessions, 35 young people signed up to the Studio+ project and are looking forward to enhancing their literacy and numeracy skills through learning about creative new media.

James Stewart and Aurelien Riviere, Studio+ tutors, work to facilitate accessible new creative musical prospects for young people living in some of London’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, inspiring them to produce great music.  Using 'taster' sessions to engage young people who are "at risk" or are not in education, employment or training (NEET) has proven to be a highly succesful method of engaging young people in the Studio+ programme.

We look forward to hearing great things from the new Studio+ team and their pupils in the future!
