Westminster Works appoints Dynamic Advice Team
The Westminster Works programme is about to be up and running, after successfully recruiting a talented team of outreach and advice workers.
The 11 new Advisers will work closely together as a team, although they will be employed by the different partners in Westminster Works. They know the local area and the employment barriers that people face. They are keen to begin work in supporting Westminster residents to find employment, volunteering or training opportunities.
Advisers will work with their clients to develop action plans to help them achieve their goals. The Westminster Works team will devise imaginative packages of support including confidence building, formal and informal training, work placements, volunteering opportunities and job brokerage.
Angela McConville, Vital Regeneration’s Chief Executive, said, “Westminster Works is a really important programme with eight partners working together to produce creative solutions to the everyday issues that people face when they are trying to move on into training or employment. We’re very pleased to have attracted a strong team of people who share our goals and who can work imaginatively to support people to achieve their aspirations.”
The 11-strong team will initially operate for two years starting in April 2009 but it is envisaged that the programme will continue beyond this period.
