FAQs - Apprenticeships Advice Service
Apprenticeships are for young people aged from 16-24. Some organisations provide Young Apprenticeships for 14-16 year-olds. If you’re in this age range, get in touch and we can help you find out if it is the right pathway for you when you leave school, as well as help you apply, as most companies require you to apply well in advance.
The Apprenticeships Advice Service is for young people 14-24 living in Westminster. However, if you are between 14-19 you can also be from some surrounding boroughs, so please get in touch. If we can’t register you on our programme we may be able to advise you of a similar service where you live.
Usually, you need to have NVQ Level 1 or above, as you will be training towards an NVQ Level 2 as part of an apprenticeship. To go for an advanced apprenticeship you need to be at Level 2 or above (five GCSEs at A-C or equivalent), as you will be training towards an NVQ Level 3. Most employers expect some experience in the work place before taking you on. But if you don’t have these qualifications or experience, don’t worry. We can help you to be ‘apprenticeship-ready’; whether its further training in an e2e or GCSEs, or experience in a work place, through volunteering or short-term e2e/work placements. Contact us and we can work out what you need.
At Vital Regeneration we find the right training provider and employer for your apprenticeship. We do not provide the training or employment ourselves, but we will be on hand to support you throughout your apprenticeship should you need it. Connexions will support you through the apprenticeship, if you are aged between 16 and 19.
Just drop us a line at the contact details page and we will set up a meeting between yourself and one of our advisers to go through what you’re interested in and where you want to go.
