Get involved
Are you interested in your local environment? Would you like to get more people involved in recycling, composting and other local green projects? If so, you could become a Community Green Champion. These are local volunteers who are interested in green issues and enthusiastic about talking to people to inspire and encourage them to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Vital Regeneration has a growing band of Community Green Champions from all sections of the community. They are involved in delivering a programme of activities which aim to engage members of the community in the environmental agenda. It’s also a great way to develop new skills and build your confidence. We provide support and training.
Vital Regeneration’s community composting project is open to everyone. We’ll show you how and give you the caddies and compostable liners that you need to take part. Just put your compostable waste in our blue wheelie bins and we collect the bins every day. The compost we produce is available free to residents. You could use it to grow vegetables or flowers on your balcony.
Get involved in our Open Spaces project! You could help clear front gardens for people who can’t manage the upkeep. Do you need your garden cleared but are unable to do it yourself? Contact Marie – her details are below.
Would you like to take part in a project to develop a wildlife area in a local estate park? We will run a series of one-day workshops on how to increase bio-diversity in our local environment to attract more birds, bees and butterflies
